First Class Pre-K Childcare Outreach

A Note from Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education
The Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education (ADECE) is facilitating outreach to childcare centers for First Class Pre-K expansion for 2021-2022. Here you can find the flyer and photo instructions on how to access the funding application that ADECE is mailing to every licensed and exempt childcare center in Alabama. We have 3 live webinar sessions planned for February 18, 23, and 25 to offer support and answer questions. All will occur at Noon on each of these dates. We are also facilitating targeted outreach in the 24 counties whose First Class Pre-K access is below 38%, with 12 of these counties having access below 30% (see this list). Our region team members will provide direct contact to childcare locations in these counties. ADECE is also reaching out to the 100 programs that applied last year but were not able to receive classrooms due to limited funding. We know childcare centers have suffered major losses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Having a First Class Pre-K classroom could certainly assist with economic recovery efforts. Thanks for all you do to ensure First Class Pre-K is available to Alabama's children and families! Note: Contact Gay Finn for the Zoom link to the webinars.
