At the end of 2024, it was announced that Endorsement Renewal transitioned to a fixed 3-year cycle, completed through an attestation and audit system. This update provides greater flexibility for Endorsees navigating life events such as family leave, medical leave, or job transitions. The renewal process balances efficiency with accountability—attestation allows professionals to affirm their commitment to ongoing professional development, reflective supervision, and ethical practice in alignment with the Competency Guidelines, while audits ensure equity, consistency, and trust by verifying adherence to best practices in IECMH. Together, these elements maintain the integrity of the system while supporting the continued growth of the IECMH workforce. It is important to note that each Endorsement an Endorsee wants to keep active must be renewed. EASy will prompt the renewal of each Endorsement due and will remove any that are not renewed by December 31 of the renewal year from the Endorsement Registry.

Key Updates:

  • Renewal is held triennially

  • EACH endorsement needs to be renewed to remain active

    • EASy can only charge one fee for renewal despite multiple Endorsements being renewed. AIMHs will need to standardize their renewal fees.

  • Renewal is captured in EASy via an attestation to obtaining the requirements

  • AIMHs will conduct an audit after each renewal session starting in 2027.

Grounding In:

  • Review the updated Endorsement Annual Reviewal Memo and Endorsement renewal requirements via EASy to understand the requirements and get comfortable with the 3-year renewal language and mid-cycle endorsement adjustment.

  • Review pages 14-15 of the Endorsement Application Packet as another resource

  • Review Sample Communications to get comfortable with how to communicate mid-cycle renewal requirements.

What’s been done:

  • Attestation has been fully integrated into EASy.

  • Renewal reports tab created.

  • Updates to how EASy determines what endorsement is due for renewal (Any Endorsement with the Endorsed status prior to 1/1/2027)

  • Removal of renewal due dates on Endorsement cards

  • The required Alliance documents have been updated at the start of the year to include the fixed 3-year renewal.

You're to do’s:

  • Ensure you are using the most up to date Endorsement Application Packet

  • Ensure your congratulations correspondences and feedback letters that you will be using this year have accurate renewal information, consider including the mid-cycle.

  • Update any presentations, flyers, webpages your AIMH has mentioning annual renewal.

  • Review your Endorsement fees and ensure all renewal fees are the same.

  • Inform your community: with targeted messaging. Inform anyone who earned an Endorsement prior to 1/1/2025, they will need a specific email explaining renewal changes.

  • EC attestation walk through video and PDF

  • Endorsee renewal overview (used for 2024 renewal and can be updated closer to 2027)

Audit

  • The exact functionality is being built within EASy

  • AIMHs will be expected to complete in an audit of those who reinstated, and others randomly selected

  • Endorsees can expect that they will need to manually enter data if selected for an audit.

    • Endorsees are not required to enter information into EASy for renewal. AIMHs cannot mandate that Endorsees input information as a condition for renewing their Endorsement. Instead, consider marketing EASy as a “competency-based tracking system” and encourage members to use it to track their training and professional development.
